Ingredients

Almond Broccoli

2 lbs fresh broccoli, trimmed and florets
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup flour
3/4 cup chicken broth
1 cup cream (whipping cream)
2 Tbs lemon juice
1/4 cup grated fresh Parmesan Cheese
1/4 cup slivered almonds

Almond Broccoli Directions

  1. Heat oven to 350°
  2. Steam broccoli in a vegetable steamer 5-8 minutes or cook in salted boiling water 5-8 minutes.
  3. Melt butter in a small sauce pan.
  4. Mix in flour and stir until well blended. 
  5. Add chicken broth, cream, and lemon juice.
  6. Cook stirring until thickened.
  7. Arrange broccoli in a 9 x 13 inch glass baking pan.
  8. Pour white sauce over broccoli.
  9. Sprinkle with cheese and lomonds
  10. Bake 25 minutes.

Notes

Note rom recipe author: I like to make this on Saturday. Take it out of the refrigerator and an hour before I bake it for Suday dinner.
