2 15 ounce cans pineapple chunks |
1.25 cup chicken broth |
0.25 cup sugar |
0.75 cup cider vinegar |
1 Tablespoon soy sauce |
1 Tablespoon catsup |
0.25 cup cornstarch |
1 cup green onions, chopped finely |
3 green peppers cut into 1 inch squares |
Sweet and Sour Sauce Directions
- Combine pineapple served and chicken broth, brown sugar, vinegar, soy sauce, catsup, and cornstarch. Cook, stirring until thickened. At this point, you can refrigerate the sauce as much as a day ahead.
- Shortly before you want to use the sauce, heat it slowly, add onions and green peppers. Cook 1 minute longer. Remove from heat and add pineapple chunks.
- Makes 2 1/2 cups of liquid sauce.
