Ingredients

Cookies

2 cups flour
1 Tblsp ginger
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 cup shortening/butter
1 cup sugar
1 large egg, unbeaten
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup granulated sugar

Ginger Crackles Directions

  1. Measure Flour, ginger, soda, cinnamon, and salt into a sifter. Sift twice, place in a small bowl. In a sepoerate bowl, cream shortening, add sugar gradually, creaming well after each addition. Bean in egg and molasses - Sift the dry ingredients into creamed mixture, mixing in well.
  2. Form into balls, roll in sugar.
  3. Bake in an ungreased cookie shees at 350° for 12-15 minutes
