Jubilee Jumbles
1/2 cup soft shortening |
1 cup brown sugar |
1/2 cup white sugar |
2 large eggs |
1 cup evaporated milk, undiluted |
1 tsp vanilla |
2 3/4 cup flour, sifted |
1/2 tsp soda |
1 tsp salt |
1 cup walnuts, chopped |
1 cup shredded coconut or raisins or 6 ounces chocolate chips |
Jubilee Jumbles Directions
- Mix will shortening, sugar and eggs.
- Stir in milk and vanilla.
- Sift together flour, baking soda, salt and stir into shortining mixture.
- Blend in nuts.
- Chill 1 hour.
- Heat oven to 375°
- Drop rounded tablespoons full, 2 inches apart on greased cookie sheet.
- Bake 10 minutes.
- While warm frost with the butter glaze.
- For the glaze, heat the butter until golden brown without scorching it.
- Beat in confectioners' sugar in evaporated milk
