Ingredients

Ingredients:

4 cups hot water
12 cups flour (up to 14 ups if needed)
2 Tablespoon yeast
3/4 cup canned milk
1/2 cup shortening
1/2 cup instant potatoes
1 Tablespoon salt
3 large eggs (optional)
1 Tablespoon Sugar

Potato Bread Directions

  1. Soften yeast in 1 cup warm water with sugar. Place remaining ingredients  and 6 cups flour in a big bowl and mix thouroughly and kneed, About 10 minutes.
  2. Add yeast and remaining 6 cups flour kneed 10 minutes more adding more flour ½ the cup and a time until dough is not sticky. 
  3. Put in covered bowl and let rise until double in size, break down, into 6 loaves. 
  4. Let rise until rounded in greased pans and bake 400° for 15 minutes. Reduce heat to 375° and bake about 35 or 40 minutes. 
  5. May use half whole wheat flour. (I add 3 tablespoons of soybean lecithin granules.) 
  6. Or trying taking out two or three loaves and then add 1/2 cup sugar three round tablespoons of cinnamon and one and 1/2 cup coarsely chopped nuts. Makes a delicious cinnamon nut bread.
