Hawaiian Haystacks
2 10.5 ounce cans cream of mushroom soup |
1 cup chicken broth |
2 cups cooked chicken, cubed |
4 cup cooked long-grain rice |
9 1/2 ounces chow mein noodles |
3 med tomatoes, cubed |
1 cup chopped celery |
1/2 cup green onion chopped |
1 20 ounce can pineapple chunks, drained |
1 cup cheddar cheese, grated |
1/2 cup slivered almonds |
1/2 cup coconut |
1 2 ounce jar pimentos, drained and diced (opt.) |
1/2 cup green pepper, chopped |
Hawaiian Haystacks Directions
- Combione soup with chicken broth in a medium saucepan to make gravy.
- Stir to blend.
- Add chicken and simmer about 8 - 10 minutes until heated through.
- Place other ingredients in individual dishes.On individual plates, layer all ingredients.
- First, stack rice show mein noodles, chicken and gravy.
- Add tomatoes, celery, green pepper, and green onion.
- Top with the pineapple chunks, grated cheese and more chicken. (Gravy if desired.)
- Stack almonds, coconut on top/
