Apple Pudding
1 cup sugar |
1/4 cup margarine |
1 egg |
2 large apples, peeled and shredded |
1 cup flour |
1 tsp baking soda |
1 tsp cinnamon |
1/3 tsp nutmeg |
1/2 cup chopped walnuts |
1 tsp salt |
Sauce
1/2 cup margarine |
1 cup sugar |
1/2 cup canned milk |
1 1/2 tsp vanilla |
1/2 tsp nutmeg |
Best Ever Apple Pudding Directions
- Gradually add sugar to margarine; cream.
- Add egg and beat hard.
- Add apples.
- Stir in sifted dry ingredients and add walnuts.
- Bake in greased 9 inch square pan.
- Double the recipe for a 9 x 13-inch pan.
- Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
- Serve hot
- SAUCE: Heat together margarine, sugar, canned milk over a very low heat, stirring constantly until blended and slightly thickened. DON'T let it boil. Add vanilla and nutmeg.
- Serve hot pudding.
