Ingredients

Apple Pudding

1 cup sugar
1/4 cup margarine
1 egg
2 large apples, peeled and shredded
1 cup flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp cinnamon
1/3 tsp nutmeg
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1 tsp salt

Sauce

1/2 cup margarine
1 cup sugar
1/2 cup canned milk
1 1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 tsp nutmeg

Best Ever Apple Pudding Directions

  1. Gradually add sugar to margarine; cream.
  2. Add egg and beat hard.
  3. Add apples.
  4. Stir in sifted dry ingredients and add walnuts.
  5. Bake in greased 9 inch square pan.
  6. Double the recipe for a 9 x 13-inch pan.
  7. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes.
  8. Serve hot
  9. SAUCE: Heat together margarine, sugar, canned milk over a very low heat, stirring constantly until blended and slightly thickened. DON'T let it boil. Add vanilla and nutmeg. 
  10. Serve hot pudding.
