Ingredients

For 6 Serving(s)

Ingredients

1 8 ounce wheel Brie cheese
1 sheet, about 15 ounce puff pastry
1/4 cup apricot preserves
1/4 cup chopped pecans or almonds
1 large egg, beaten
1 Tablespoon dried cranberries for extra flavor - optional

Brie en Croûte (Gilmore Girls-Inspired Appetizer) Directions

  1. Prep: Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Roll out puff pastry to ¼-inch thick on a floured surface.
  2. Assemble: Place Brie in center of pastry. Spread preserves on top, sprinkle with nuts (and cranberries if using). Fold pastry over Brie, sealing edges.
  3. Bake: Place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, seam-side down. Brush with egg wash. Bake 20–25 min until golden.
  4. Serve: Let rest 5 min. Serve with crackers, apple slices, or baguette rounds for dipping.

Notes

Why Brie en Croûte? Its rich, elegant profile suits Emily’s high-society appetizers, perfect for a pre-dinner spread.

Tips: Use raspberry preserves for a tart twist. Chill Brie before wrapping to ease handling.

Serving Suggestion: Serve with sparkling wine for a Gilmore family flair.
