Ingredients:

1 lb hamburger
1 large onion, chopped
8 large potatoes, boiled and peeled
1 10.75 ounce can cream of mushroom soup
1/2 can evaporated milk
1 8 ounce carton sour cream
2 1/2 cup grated cheese

Hamburger Helper in Early Form Directions

  1. Brown chopped onions until milky. Add hamburger and brown. Season with seasoned salt. Add pepper. 
  2. Place onion and hamburger in the bottom of a 9 x 13 pyrex dish. 
  3. And sliced (or cubed) potatoes. Combine mushroom soup, milk, sour cream. Mix well and pour over top of potatoes. Spread grated cheese overall. Bake covered in a 350° oven approximately 1/2 hour or until hot and bubbly. 
  4. Melt: can use raw potatoes-just bake two HRS. Can also use canned potatoes however you will need 2 to 3 cans.
