1 9 inch pie crust, baked |
1 1/2 cup sugar |
2 large egg yolks |
2 teaspoon lemon peel, grated |
6 Tablespoons lemon juice |
5 Tablespoons cornstarch |
Meringue:
3 large egg whites |
1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar |
6 Tablespoon sugar |
Lemon Meringue Pie Directions
- Mix thoroughly sugar and egg yolks. Put lemon peel into hot water and mix. Mix lemon juice and cornstarch separately. Add egg yolk and sugar to hot water. Don allow the water to be too hard to begin less. Add Meringue and bake
- For the meringue: Beat egg whites and cream of tartar until slide nouns form. Gradually add sugar beating well after each addition. Beat until meringue stands in stiff glossy peaks. Carefully add over lemon filling and bake
