Cake
1/4 cup butter, softened |
1 cup sugar |
1 egg |
1 cup flour |
1 tsp salt |
1 tsp cinnamon |
2 Tbs hot water |
1 tsp vanilla |
3 cup apples, peeled, cored and diced |
1/2 cup pecans, chopped |
Rum-Butter Sauce
1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed |
1/2 cup sugar |
1/4 cup butter |
1/2 cup whipping cream |
1 tsp rum flavoring (add to taste) |
Apple Pie Cake Directions
- Cream butter.
- Add sugar, beating well at medium speed.
- Add egg, beat until blended.
- Combine flour, salt and cinnamon.
- Mix well, then add to cream mixture.
- Beat on low until smooth.
- Stir in water and vanilla.
- Fold in apples and pecans.
- Spoon into greased and floured 9 inch pie plate.
- Bake 350° for 45 minutes and check to make sure a wooden toothpick in the center comes out clean.
- Serve warm or cold with Rum-Butter sauce and whipped cream.
