Ingredients

Cake

1/4 cup butter, softened
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 Tbs hot water
1 tsp vanilla
3 cup apples, peeled, cored and diced
1/2 cup pecans, chopped

Rum-Butter Sauce

1/2 cup brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 cup butter
1/2 cup whipping cream
1 tsp rum flavoring (add to taste)

Apple Pie Cake Directions

  1. Cream butter.
  2. Add sugar, beating well at medium speed.
  3. Add egg, beat until blended.
  4. Combine flour, salt and cinnamon.
  5. Mix well, then add to cream mixture.
  6. Beat on low until smooth.
  7. Stir in water and vanilla.
  8. Fold in apples and pecans.
  9. Spoon into greased and floured 9 inch pie plate.
  10. Bake 350° for 45 minutes and check to make sure a wooden toothpick in the center comes out clean.
  11. Serve warm or cold with Rum-Butter sauce and whipped cream.
