Ingredients

Banana Bars

1/2 cup butter or margarine
2 cups sugar
3 eggs
1 1/2 cup mashed, ripe bananas (about 3)
1 tsp vanilla
2 cup all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/8 tsp salt

Frosting

1/2 cup butter/margarine
1 8 ounce package cream cheese, softened
4 cups confectioners' sugar
1 tsp vanilla

Frosted Banana Bars Directions

  1. In a mixing bowl, cream butter and sugar.
  2. Beat in eggs, bananas, and vanilla.
  3. Combine the flour, baking soda and salt; add to creamed mixture and mix well.
  4. Pour into a greased 15 x 10 1 inch baking pan.
  5. Bake at 350° for 25 minutes or until bars test done; cool.
  6. For Frosting: Cream butter and cream cheese in a mixing bowl. Gradually add confectioners' sugar and vanilla; beat well.
  7. Spread over bars.
