Ingredients

Philly Beefsteak

1 pound sirloin steak thinly sliced (boneless)
1/2 tsp garlic
1 Tbs extra virgin olive oil
1 med green pepper, sliced
1 medium red pepper, sliced
1/2 tsp oregano
1/4 tsp salt ( to your taste)
1/2 cup beef broth
1/4 tsp pepper fresh ground to your taste
6 slices provolone cheese ( for a change of pace, I'll some time use Swiss cheese slices from the deli)
4 hoagie rolls

Philly Beefsteak Marinade

1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup soy sauce

Philly Beefsteak for instapot or Stovetop Directions

  1. in a large ziplock freezer bag, add the Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, garlic powder,  and the sliced meat and marinate overnight
  2. When ready to cook, put the olive oil in a skillet or turn your instapot to Saute.
  3. When olive oil is hot add peppers, oregano and onions and saute' until soft.
  4. If using an Instapot, remove the onion pepper mixture and put in your trivet placing the marinated meat with the marinade in the instpot, makins sure none of the meat rests on the bottom of your instapot to avoid a food burning error. (if you have a metal veggie steamer basket you can use that instead fo the trivet.)
  5. Add the veggies back into your instapot on top of the meat, adding the beef stock.
  6. Place the lidd on the Instapot and set to pressure cook on high for m8 minutes, letting the instapot release naturally for 10 minutes.
  7. If you are using the skillet, add the onions, oregano and peppers to the skillet, sauteing until soft.
  8. Add the meat with  the marinaded and beef stock, cooking uncovered until the liquid has reduced by half.
  9. While waiting, opend the hoagie buns and butter them, toast on a griddle till crunchy,
  10. Wehn meat mixture is done, scoop into prepared hogie buns, topping with cheese.
  11. Serve!

Notes

You can add mushroom slices to the onions and peppers when you saute.

I personally like to saute them sepeartely and add to the meat mixture when they are not cooked all the way.

Aslo my kids sometimes like adding the cheese to the hot meat mixture, mixing it in then serving.
