Bananas Foster
1 Tbs unsalted butter |
1 Tbs brown sugar |
1 banana, peeled and sliced diagonally |
1 tsp vanilla |
1 Tbs dark rum |
1/3 cup French vanilla ice cream, melted a bit |
2 slices banana bread |
1/2 cup French vanilla ice cream, not melted |
Bananas Foster Directions
- In a small skillet, melt butter over high heat.
- Add brownsugar and melt.
- Add banana slices and vanilla extract cooking 1 minute to carmelize the banana
- Add rum; using a match, light the rum
- Let the flame burn until the alcohol burns off.
- Pour melted ice cream on a plate.
- Place bread over the melted ice cream, top with non melted ice cream.
- Top Ice cream with banana mixture.
- Serve immediately.
