Ingredients
Calzone
1 lb. pizza dough |
1 cup ricotta cheese |
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, grated |
1/4 cup Fresh Parsley, chopped |
1/4 cup Fresh basil, chopped |
1 lg egg, beaten |
1 pinch salt & pepper to taste |
1 cup pepperoni (or you favorite toppings) |
Copycat Sbarro's Calzone Recipe Directions
- Preheat oven to 425°F.
- Roll out pizza dough into a large oval or rectangular shape.Mix ricotta cheese, shredded mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, parsley, basil, egg, salt, and pepper in a large bowl. Spread the cheese mixture onto half of the pizza dough, leaving a border around the edges.
Add your favorite toppings to the cheese mixture.
Fold the other half of the pizza dough over the toppings and press the edges together to seal.
Use a fork to prick a few holes in the top of the calzone.
Bake for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.
Let cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
