Ingredients

BBQ Sauce

1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup minced onion
1/2 cup green pepper, finely minced
1 med jalepeno pepper, seeded and minced
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp pepper, freshly ground
1 28 ounce can tomato sauce
2 cups ketchup (Heinz)
1 cup water
3/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/2 cup cider vinegar
1/4 cup lemon juice
1/4 cup molasses
1/4 cup cayenne pepper sauce
1/4 cup spicy brown mustard
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
1 Tbs chili powder
2 tsp black pepper, freshly grown and coarse
1/2 tsp ground allspice
1 tsp liquid smoke (optional)

Dinosaur 'Mutha' BBQ Sauce Directions

  1. In a lage saucepan, add the oil, heating over medium heat until hot.
  2. Add onions, green pepper, jalepenos and saute.
  3. Add salt and pepper, cooking until vegetables are soft and onions are translucent.
  4. Add garlic and cook 1 minute more.
  5. Add remaining ingredients except liquid smoke.
  6. Bring to a boil, then lower to let the sauce simmer. for 10 minutes.
  7. Trun heat off, adding the Liquid Smoke, and let the sauce cool.
  8. Put in a sealable container and keep in refrigerator until ready to use
