Ingredients:
| 2 quarts water |
| 1 meaty hambone |
| 1 teaspoon salt |
| 6 whole Black Peppers |
| 2 Bay Leaves |
| 4 bullion cubes chicken bullion cubes |
| 1 Tablespoon Oregano |
| 1 Tablespoon Thyme |
| 1 Tablespoon Rosemary |
| 4 15 ounce cans butter beans |
| 1 medium onion |
Lima Beans and Ham Soup Directions
- Combine Water, Ham Bone, Salt, Black Pepper, Bay Leafs, Bouillon Cubes, Oregano, Thyme, and Rosemary into stock pot. Cover and simmer about 3 to 3 ½ hours. Add Butter Beans and Onion (diced) during the last half hour.
- Remove ham bone and cut ham off bone and return meat to soup.
- (Note: I bought a spiral ham on the bone and cooked it first and then used the left over ham bone and meat for the ingredients of this soup)
- Makes about 6 servings depending on how hungry you are. Enjoy!
