Honey Hush Corn Bread
| 1 1/4 cups yellow cornmeal |
| 1/4 cup sugar |
| 3/4 cup all purpose flour |
| 1 1/2 tsp baking powder |
| 1/2 tsp baking soda |
| 1 tsp salt |
| 1 cup buttermilk |
| 2 large eggs, slightly beaten |
| 1/2 tsp vanilla |
| 1/4 cup melted butter |
| 2 Tbs honey |
Honey Hush Cornbread Directions
- Preheat the oven to 350°
- Grease an 8 x 8 baking pan with shortening
- Place the pan in the oven while you mix the corn bread.
- In a bowl, mix the cornmeal, sugar, flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk, eggs, vanilla, and melted butter until well blended.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry, carefully mixing until they are just moistened.
- Pull the pan out of the oven and pour in the batter.
- Bake for 25 to 20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
- Take the cornbread out of the oven and brush to top with honey.
- Cool for 10 minutes in the pan before cutting into squares.
