30 cooked and peeled beets
2 cups sugar
2 cups water
2 cups cider vinegar
1 teaspoon cloves
1 teaspoon allspice
1 Tablespoon cinnamon

Grandma Blackburn’s Pickled Beets Directions

  1. Boil beets 10 min the solution of sugar, water, vinegar, cloves, allspice and cinnamon.  Pack beets in hot, sterile jars and pour solution to 1/4" from top.  Seal with hot lids.

    Extension service recommends dropping the 10 mins boil in solution...bring to a boil, pack in hot sterile jars and process 35 mins in steamer.
