Ingredients

Ingredients:

1 quart milk
2 cups `sugar
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 12 ounce can frozen orange juice
1 12 ounce can evaporated milk
1/2 pint whipping cream
1 quart apricot nectar
1 Tablespoon lemon juice

Ethel's Homemade Ice Cream Directions

  1. Scald milk; add sugar and salt. Cool. Add canned milk, cream, Aber, nectar, orange juice, lemon juice and mix. 
  2. Put in cylinder of ice cream freezer and freeze. (use about one part coarse salt to 5 parts crushed ice.) 
  3. When frozen, drain off excess water and packed with more ice and salt. Cover and let mellow for 2 hours before serving. Makes 1 gallon
