Ingredients:

3 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 packages yeast
1/4 cup warm water
3/4 cup milk, scalded and cooled
1/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted and cooled

Monkey Bread Directions

  1. Stir flour and measure. Stir in milk, sugar, salt, butter or margarine, and flour. Beat well, cover, and let rise in a warm place (80°) until almost doubled in size (about 1 hour.) 
  2. Punch down and roll out on a lightly floured board to 1/4 inch thickness cut in diamond shape pieces about 2 1/2 inches long. Dip each piece and melted butter in a range pieces overlapping in a 9 inch ungreased ring mold .The mold should be half full. Let rise until almost double in bulk. 
  3. Bake in a 400° oven for 30 minutes, or until golden brown. Serve warm; pull bread apart to eat. 
  4. Serves 12
