Ingredients:

1 1/2 quart cream
1 1/2 cup sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla

Philadelphia Ice Cream Directions

  1. Add sugar to cream and stir to dissolve. 
  2. Add the vanilla and pour the makes into the can of an ice cream freezer. 
  3. Place the cover on the top of freezer and place the dasher, cover and fasten. 
  4. Fill the top ¼ full with chip ice. 
  5. Complete killing the top mixture with one part salt and eight parts ice.
  6. Turn the handle slowly for 5 minutes, until it begins to turn with difficulty then turn rapidly until the mixture is hard. 
  7. Drain the brine from the tub, remove the dasher and replace the cover. Close up the hole. 
  8. Fill top one part salt to four parts ice. 
  9. Leave packed for at least 1 hour. Deep freeze. Remove 2 hours before serving.
