1 large garlic, bulb |
1 loaf french bread |
2 Tbs olive oil |
1 cup swiss cheese shredded |
1 pkg basil, fresh |
Roasted Garlic Bread with Tomato and Cheese Directions
- Preheat oven to 375°. Put the garlic bulb on foiland drizzle with a little olive oil and make a tent withthe foild, sealing the garlic in and not letting any steam escape.
- Bake in oven for 25 minuts. when done, remove and let cool.
- Separate cloves and with the back of a spoon, crush the sepatrated, peeled cloves out of the skin, keeping the crushed cloves in a small bowl.
- lower the over to 350°. Slice the french bread in half and place them on a side by side, brush the top with olive oil.
- Spread the crushed garlick on the loaves.
- Top with tomato, and salt and pepper lightly top with cheese and basil.
- put in oven and broil until cheese is melted. Slice into manageable slices.
Notes
the brand we used was from Costco. I have never seen this bread anywhere else. It is a heavy bread that has bits of fresh garlic in it and the crust is nice and crispy. Delicious
