Ingredients
Almond Broccoli
2 lbs fresh broccoli, trimmed and florets |
1/2 cup butter or margarine |
1/2 cup flour |
3/4 cup chicken broth |
1 cup cream (whipping cream) |
2 Tbs lemon juice |
1/4 cup grated fresh Parmesan Cheese |
1/4 cup slivered almonds |
Almond Broccoli Directions
- Heat oven to 350°
- Steam broccoli in a vegetable steamer 5-8 minutes or cook in salted boiling water 5-8 minutes.
- Melt butter in a small sauce pan.
- Mix in flour and stir until well blended.
- Add chicken broth, cream, and lemon juice.
- Cook stirring until thickened.
- Arrange broccoli in a 9 x 13 inch glass baking pan.
- Pour white sauce over broccoli.
- Sprinkle with cheese and lomonds
- Bake 25 minutes.
Notes
Note rom recipe author: I like to make this on Saturday. Take it out of the refrigerator and an hour before I bake it for Suday dinner.
