Ingredients

Chili

2 lbs lean ground beef (more if you want it meatier)
1 large onion, coarsely chopped
2 tsp salt
1 Tbs garlic, crushed
3 Tbs chili powder
1 Tbs garam marsala
1/2 tsp cinnamon
4 14 ounce can diced tomatoes
1 4 ounce can green chilis
1 large can tomatoes, crushed
4 14 ounce cans pinto beans

Prize-Winning Chili Directions

  1. Brown meat with chopped onions, salt, garlic and the spices.
  2. Add tomatoes and green chilis as well as chili powder, other spices and beans.
  3. Simmer for 15 minutes or so.
  4. Tastes even better on the second  or third day when the spices have had time to really meld together.
  5. Serve with a dollop of sour cream on top.
  6. Can also garnish with cilantro, tortilla chips, and shredded cheese if you like.
