Ingredients
Swiss Steak
1/2 lb beef round steak, cut into two pieces |
1 Tbs flour |
1/4 tsp salt |
1/8 tsp pepper |
1 8 ounce can stewed tomatoes |
1/4 cup chopped onions |
2 pepper rings (optional) |
Swiss Steak for 2 Directions
- Pound meat to 1/4 inch thickness with edge of saucer or meat mallet.
- In paper or plastic bag, mix flour, salt and pepper.
- Shake meat in a bag until well coated.
- Place meat in 2 quart square casserole.
- Mix tomatoes, onions, and pepper rings.
- Pour over meat; cover.
- Microwave at 50% for 25 minutes (medium power)
- Turn meat over, spoon sauce over meat;
- Microwave covered at 50%(medium) for 15-20 minutes or until tender.
- Let stand covered, for 10 minutes.
Notes
If you have the time, brown the meat and place it and the cracklings in a crocpot.
Let cook for 4 hours on slow. I like this way better.
