Ingredients

Quick Rolls

1 cup warm milk
1/4 cup warm water
1 pkg dry yeast (2-1/4 teaspoon)
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
3 Tbs shortening
2 1/2 cup flour (up to 3 cups)

Quick Rolls Directions

  1. Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 tablesppon of sugar.
  2. Add soda, sugar, salt and shortening to warm milk
  3. Then add yeast mixture.
  4. Add flour, then turn on floured board and knead until smoothe and elastic.
  5. Cover with bowl or cloth.
  6. Let rest 10-15 minutes.
  7. Shap into rolls.
  8. Put in warm greased pan.
  9. Let rise until double, 1-1/2 hours - 2 hours.
  10. Bake in moderately hot oven, 400° for 15-20 minutes
