Quick Rolls
1 cup warm milk |
1/4 cup warm water |
1 pkg dry yeast (2-1/4 teaspoon) |
1/4 tsp baking soda |
1 tsp salt |
3 Tbs shortening |
2 1/2 cup flour (up to 3 cups) |
Quick Rolls Directions
- Dissolve yeast in warm water with 1 tablesppon of sugar.
- Add soda, sugar, salt and shortening to warm milk
- Then add yeast mixture.
- Add flour, then turn on floured board and knead until smoothe and elastic.
- Cover with bowl or cloth.
- Let rest 10-15 minutes.
- Shap into rolls.
- Put in warm greased pan.
- Let rise until double, 1-1/2 hours - 2 hours.
- Bake in moderately hot oven, 400° for 15-20 minutes
