Ingredients

Cronbread

2 cups buttermilk
1 1/2 cup white cornmeal
3 Tbs flour
1 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
2 large eggs

Buttermilk Cornbread Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 400°
  2. Mix dry ingredients together, then add buttermilk, then eggs; beat well.
  3. Using an iron skillet, greas bottom with preferably bacon grease or meat drippings.
  4. Sprinkle cornmeal into pan.
  5. Heat pan until grease melts, then add butter.
  6. Bake for 20-25 minutes.
