Ingredients
Poppy Seed Bread:
3 cups flour |
2 1/3 cup sugar |
1 1/2 tsp salt |
1 1/2 tsp baking powder |
3 eggs |
1 1/2 cup milk |
1 1/2 cup cooking oil |
1 1/2 TBS poppy seed |
1 1/2 tsp vanilla |
1 1/2 tsp butter flavoring |
1 1/2 tsp almond extract |
Glaze:
1/4 cup orange juice |
3/4 cup sugar |
1/2 tsp vanilla |
1/2 tsp almond extract |
1/2 tsp butter flavoring |
Poppy Seed Bread Directions
- Mix all ingredients to the bread together.
- Pour into a greased and floured bread pan (Makes 2 big loaves or 3 medium loaves.)
- Bake at 325° for 1 hour or until the inserted toothpick comes out clean.
- Remove bread from oven.
- Baste with glaze while loaves are still warm and in the pans.
- Let glaze drip down the edges of loaves.
- Glaze: Mix together the ingredients for the glaze in a saucepan; cook over low heat until sugar is dissolved.
- Baste on warm loaves.
