Ingredients

Rolls

2 pkgs active dry yeast
1/4 cup warm water
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1 cup hot water
3 well-beaten eggs
2 tsp salt
4 cups flour (use 1/2 cup more if needed)

Refrigerator Orange Rolls Directions

  1. Sprinkle the yeast over warm water; set aside.
  2. Combine sugar and shortening.
  3. Make sure they are melted.
  4. Add beaten eggs and 1 cup flour; mix well.
  5. Stir in dissolved yeast and mix thoroughly.
  6. Add remaining ingredients; stir until well mixed.
  7. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
  8. Works best in a sealed container.
  9. Turn dough onto floured board.
  10. Divide into 2 portions.
  11. Cut into 1 inch slices and place into buttered muffin tins.
  12. Allow to rise 3 - 4 hours.
  13. Bake at 375° for 10 - 12 minutes or until done.
  14. Remove from oven and while still hot, spread orange glaze on them.
  15.  
  16. Orange Glaze: Combine juice of 1 orange with 1- pound box powdered sugar and blend until smooth. You may have to adjust the amounts a little.
