Ingredients

Blueberry Biscuits

3 cup self-rising flour
3 tsp baking powder
2 tsp confectioner's sugar
1/2 cup shortening
1/4 cup buttermilk
1 cup blueberries

Blueberry Biscuits Glaze

1/2 cup powdered sugar
1 tablespoon milk, use up to three tablespoons if needed
1/4 tsp vanilla

Bo Berry Biscuits Directions

  1. Preheat oven to 450°
  2. Chill shortening for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator
  3. Combine the dry ingredients.
  4. Cut in shortening.
  5. Fold in carfully blueberries and buttermilk until well combined.
  6. place the dough on a floured surface, using your hand, flatten the dough to 1 inch thick
  7. Cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
  8. Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown
  9. In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk, adding the milk slowly, only 1 tablespoon at a time until you have the desired consitency for a glaze.
  10. Spoon the glaze over the biscuits over the hot buiscuits and serve.

Notes

The recipe says to spoon glaze over the hot busicuits, but I perfer to let them cool a bit before spooning the glaze.
