Ingredients
Blueberry Biscuits
3 cup self-rising flour |
3 tsp baking powder |
2 tsp confectioner's sugar |
1/2 cup shortening |
1/4 cup buttermilk |
1 cup blueberries |
Blueberry Biscuits Glaze
1/2 cup powdered sugar |
1 tablespoon milk, use up to three tablespoons if needed |
1/4 tsp vanilla |
Bo Berry Biscuits Directions
- Preheat oven to 450°
- Chill shortening for at least 1 hour in the refrigerator
- Combine the dry ingredients.
- Cut in shortening.
- Fold in carfully blueberries and buttermilk until well combined.
- place the dough on a floured surface, using your hand, flatten the dough to 1 inch thick
- Cut into rounds using a biscuit cutter.
- Bake for 12 minutes or until golden brown
- In a bowl, whisk together powdered sugar, vanilla, and milk, adding the milk slowly, only 1 tablespoon at a time until you have the desired consitency for a glaze.
- Spoon the glaze over the biscuits over the hot buiscuits and serve.
Notes
The recipe says to spoon glaze over the hot busicuits, but I perfer to let them cool a bit before spooning the glaze.
