Ingredients

Drop biscuits

1 cup white flour
1 cup whole wheat flour
4 tsp baking powder
1 Tbs sugar
1/3 cup butter
1 cup milk

Baking Powder Drop Biscuits Directions

  1. Mix all ingredients together until everything is integrated; consistency should be fairly stiff.
  2. Drop by spoonfuls onto cookie sheet sprayed with cooking spray.
  3. Spoonfuls should be about double the size of what you would do for cookies.
  4. Cook at 400° for 10-12 minutes or until slightly golden on the edges.
  5. Serve with butter and jam.

Notes

Other varieties:

- Add 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese and a few diced jalapeno peppers. Serve with chili.

- Add 1/2 cup feta cheese or grated Parmesan cheese; serve with just about any soup.

- Add 1/2 cup grated orange peel and dried cranberries.
