1 Tablespoon Margarine |
1/2 cup sugar |
1 cup flour |
1/2 teaspoon baking soda |
1 teaspoon baking powder |
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg |
1/2 cup milk |
1/2 cup dates, chopped |
1/2 cup nuts, chopped |
1 teaspoon vanilla |
Sauce:
1/2 cup brown sugar |
1 Tablespoon margarine |
1 cup hot water |
Upside-Down Date Cake Directions
- Cream margarine and sugar. Sift dry ingredients. Add vanilla to creamed mixture, then milk alternately with flour mixture. Stir dates and nuts in last. Place batter in greased dish. Heat sauce ingredients and pour over batter. Bake at 350 degrees 30 minutes.
