Ingredients

1/2 cup butter/margarine |
1 1/2 cup sugar |
3 large eggs |
1 cup lukewarm water |
2 1/2 cup flour |
3 tsp baking powder |
1/4 tsp salt |
1 10 ounce bottle maraschino cherries, drained |
1 cup chopped pecans/walnuts |
Frosting
1 8 ounce package cream cheese |
1/2 cup butter |
3 cups powdered sugar(up to half cup more if needed) |
1 tsp vanilla |
1 tsp cherry extract |
Cherry Nut Cake Directions
- Blend the sugar and butter/margarine together.
- Add eggs and water.
- Sift flour, bking powder, salt and add to the butter mixture
- add marischino cherries and nuts
- bake at 375° until done
- For the Frosting
- Blend the creamcheese and butter.
- Add vanilla and cherry extract
- Add powdered sugar slowly until well blended and fluffy.
Notes
Can be served with or without the frosting.
