2 Tbs butter |
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced |
1 med jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced |
1/8 tsp salt |
1/8 tsp black pepper, freshly ground |
3 large cloves garlic, minced |
2 cups Mutha BBQ sauce |
3 tablespoons Jim Beam or Jack Daniels bourbon |
1/4 cup molasses |
3 Tbs scallions, finely minced |
Steak
4 18 to 22 ounce porterhouse steaks |
kosher salt |
black pepper, coarsly ground |
olive oil |
Dinosaur BBQ Molasses Bourbon Steak Directions
- On medium high heat in a saucepan, add the butter and let it melt.
- Add onions, peppers, and jalapenos.
- Sauté until soft, seasoning with a pinch of salt and pepper.
- Add the garlic and let it cook for 1 more minute.
- Add the Mutha BBQ sauce, bourbon and molasses.
- Let the sauce warm for a bit in the saucepan
- Add half of the scallions, reserving the rest to sprinkle over the finished dish
- Keep the sauce warm
- Preheat your grill.
- Rub the steaks with salt, fresh ground pepper, and olive oil.
- Over a hot fire, grill your steak to your desired doneness.
- Place steaks on a plate and add the sauce.
- Sprinkle remaining scallions to garnish before serving.
