Ingredients

Sauce

2 Tbs butter
1/2 cup red bell pepper, diced
1 med jalapeno pepper, seeded and minced
1/8 tsp salt
1/8 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
3 large cloves garlic, minced
2 cups Mutha BBQ sauce
3 tablespoons Jim Beam or Jack Daniels bourbon
1/4 cup molasses
3 Tbs scallions, finely minced

Steak

4 18 to 22 ounce porterhouse steaks
kosher salt
black pepper, coarsly ground
olive oil

Dinosaur BBQ Molasses Bourbon Steak Directions

  1. On medium high heat in a saucepan, add the butter and let it melt.
  2. Add onions, peppers, and jalapenos.
  3. Sauté until soft, seasoning with a pinch of salt and pepper.
  4. Add the garlic and let it cook for 1 more minute.
  5. Add the Mutha BBQ sauce, bourbon and molasses.
  6. Let the sauce warm for a bit in the saucepan
  7. Add half of the scallions, reserving the rest to sprinkle over the finished dish
  8. Keep the sauce warm
  9. Preheat your grill.
  10. Rub the steaks with salt, fresh ground pepper, and olive oil.
  11. Over a hot fire, grill your steak to your desired doneness.
  12. Place steaks on a plate and add the sauce.
  13. Sprinkle remaining scallions to garnish before serving.
