1 large Angel food cake cut in wedges |
1 pt whipped cream |
Lemon sauce
2 1/2 Tbs cornstarch |
1 lemon, juice with rind |
1 Tbs water |
1 cup sugar |
3 large egg yolks |
1 Tbs butter |
Perfect Dessert Lemon Sauce Delight Directions
- Mix cornstarch and sugar.
- Add 1 1/2 cups of boiling water.
- Cook until thick.
- Add lemon juice, rind, egg yolks (the egg yolks having been beaten with 1 tablespoon water.)
- Cook for 2 - 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Remove from heat and add butter.
- Cool.
- Stir well before serving.
- Dilute with a little water, if desired.
- Serve over angel food cake wedges and whipped cream.
