Ingredients

Cake

1 large Angel food cake cut in wedges
1 pt whipped cream

Lemon sauce

2 1/2 Tbs cornstarch
1 lemon, juice with rind
1 Tbs water
1 cup sugar
3 large egg yolks
1 Tbs butter

Perfect Dessert Lemon Sauce Delight Directions

  1. Mix cornstarch and sugar.
  2. Add 1 1/2 cups of boiling water.
  3. Cook until thick.
  4. Add lemon juice, rind, egg yolks (the egg yolks having been beaten with 1 tablespoon water.)
  5. Cook for 2 - 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  6. Remove from heat and add butter.
  7. Cool.
  8. Stir well before serving.
  9. Dilute with a little water, if desired.
  10. Serve over angel food cake wedges and whipped cream.
