Ingredients

Whole Wheat Bread Bowls

1 cup +3 Tbs warm water
2 Tbs Olive oil
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 cup bread flour
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast
1 large egg white (optional)
1/4 cup butter, melted (optional)

Whole wheat Brad Bowls Directions

  1. Combine all the ingredients in your bread machine according to manufacturer recommendations.
  2. Set on the dough cycle and let run.
  3. After the cycle completes, turn fough out on a floured surface and divide into 4 equal parts.
  4. Roll each part into a ball and place on a greased cookie sheet.
  5. Let the dough raise for 30 minutes.
  6. Preheat oven to 425°
  7. Brush top of the dough balls with an egg wash or melted butter.
  8. Bake for 15 to 25 minutes.
  9. To serve, cut off the tops of the bowl and remove the insides of the bowl, filling the remaining cavity with hot soup, chowder or stew.
